Tonality:
major, minor,atonal or modal.
Either in a major or minor key.
atonal or modal.
major usually sounds happier
atonal music is all over the place sounds a mess.
modes are also known of instead of being in a key you would be in a mode.

Pop  ballad:
The most common use of the term ballad in modernpop music is for an emotional love song.
Always played slowly and has a basic verse chorus structure and is often accompanied by a quitter or keyboard.

Folk song:

folk song: a song that is traditionally sung by the common people of a region and forms part of their culture.
folk music has a simple strummed accompanied usually on quittar. some songs are sung a cappella 
Usually verse after verse usually tells a story. The story they tell is political.

madrigal:

form of vocal chamber music that originated in northern Italy during the 14th century.
This type of music is normally performed in small groups about six people.
This type of music is not religious it is secular.
